"I loved painting this piece with two of my favourite things, poppies and black hearts. I'm in love with the intense colours of this one, the bold pinks and oranges that contrast against the black background, which just make the flowers pop, especially the poppies! The black background also provided an opportunity I couldn't ignore  - to add a few subtle black hearts!"

Some words from the Artist, Vicki....

I have an absolute passion for all things art, especially painting. I have painted for as long as I can remember and studied painting & ceramic design. I majored in ceramic design but continued to paint. I am originally from South Africa and spent 5 years in the U.K before finding my way straight to the Sutherland Shire. I love flowers and all things nature, and am also a qualified florist. As well as my love of painting, I also have a passion for helping others through art and am now an Art Therapy practitioner too. I find inspiration for my paintings all around me, from a simple vase of beautiful flowers to the stunning place I call home. I love using intense colours so delicious you can almost taste them, with interesting combinations and lots of contrasts. Painting fills me with so much joy and happiness and my only wish is that my paintings bring the same joy and happiness to those who view them.
