This statement chest of drawers features geometric-pattern bone inlay drawers with oak wood outer. The drawers are  am ample 18cm deep. This piece lends itself to styling with a great piece of art or a statement vase atop.

ABOUT BONE INLAY

The art of bone inlay is specific to the region of Udaipur in India, where this meticulous skill is handed down from generation to generation. Working in the family home, three craftsmen are involved. The first hand-carves camel bone into delicate shapes; the second affixes those  pieces onto a wooden furniture frame in itricate patterns; The third fills in around the bone with cloured resin background. The process takes many weeks to complete.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Bone inlay furniture has a porous surface. Pieces in high use situations, such as coffee tables, or bedside tables which have drinks placed on them - should be sealed prior to use. Clear grout sealant ( available from any hardware store) will e suitable.

To clean unsealed bone inlay, use a dry cloth (cleaning with a damp cloth may cause temporary softening of an unsealed finish)

This piece is made with natural materials and therefore must be kept out of direct sunlight and avoid excessive heat. 

*Please note that this furniture does not come with drawer runners, so must be opened with two hands.
